City of Derry Airport is by no means a large airport as in the likes of Dublin or Heathrow but this has it’s advantages.  From arriving at the airport you literally walk through the front door and after a few steps you are at the check in desks.  After checking in it’s a short walk through security and there you arrive in the waiting area which also has a bar, restaurant and several shops.

The waiting area is also the departure lounge so there are no rushed dashes across the airport to get to your departure gate.  The airport being small also has an advantage as no-one will be late getting lost in the airport and thus your flight cannot be delayed due to someone forgetting the time as they are sitting in the airport bar on the other side of the airport, the likes of what happens in larger airports.
